Carnivorous Plant Soil Mix
This coir, vermiculite and sphagnum mix contains no added standard fertiliser. Its current manufacturer reference lists pH around 7.5. That makes species suitability important: many acid-bog carnivorous plants require a different substrate chemistry.
What the manufacturer reports
The ingredient list is coco coir, vermiculite, pure sphagnum, a small amount of coarse horticultural sand and activated carbon. Its reported pH and EC are manufacturer measurements, not guarantees for every bag.
Choose it by species
Do not assume that one mix suits Venus flytraps, Sarracenia, sundews, Nepenthes and Mexican Pinguicula equally. For acid-bog specialists, confirm a suitable low-mineral, appropriately acidic substrate before potting.
Water and repotting
Use rainwater, reverse-osmosis or distilled water where the species requires low mineral content. Keep moisture appropriate to the plant. Do not dilute the mix with ordinary nutrient-rich potting soil.
