Pokon Expanded Clay Balls / LECA
Pokon clay balls are made from fired clay and can support plants in hydroponic and semi-hydroponic systems. Their coarse structure also works in reservoir and decorative uses.
Pokon instructions
Pokon advises rinsing the balls with lukewarm water before setting up hydroculture, removing old soil carefully and filling the container to the system’s correct water level.
Foliage Factory cultivation note
A nutrient solution is necessary when roots grow in inert clay. For normal soil-grown plants, a pebble layer under the soil does not correct an overly wet or compact root zone.
Maintenance
Rinse thoroughly before use. Remove old root debris before reuse, keep reservoirs clean and do not leave a drainage-holed inner pot standing in water.
